Every single day the destruction of natural habitats, illegal trading, poaching, pollution and climatic change are placing the non-human inhabitants of our planet at greater risk. Thousands of species of animals and plants seriously risk extinction, and countless other species have already been lost in the last hundred years.
The WWF has been battling to defend threatened species of flora and fauna ever since it was founded, driven above all by one conviction: endangered species can only be saved by the protection and preservation of their natural habitat. And furthermore, any initiative taken to defend Nature can only be successful if sustained by an in-depth study of the relationship between humanity and the environment.www.wwf.it
